PPCF/EPS Student Poster Prize

The international journal Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion (PPCF) and the European Physical Society (EPS) are proud to jointly sponsor the PPCF/EPS Student Poster Prize at the EPS/ICPP conference. The competition will be judged by members of the EPS/ICPP Programme Committee and PPCF Editorial Board. There will be up to four prizes of €200 each awarded to the winning posters.

The competition is only open to PhD students. To enter, students should simply send an e-mail to ppcf@iop.org by the 20th of June 2012 with ‘PPCF / EPS Poster Prize’ in the subject line and include your name, poster number and the day you are presenting your poster. We will send you confirmation of your entry by e-mail. A list of posters included will be displayed at the PPCF exhibition stand at the conference. The winners will be announced on the PPCF and EPS homepages and at the closing ceremony of the EPS/ICPP 2012 conference. If you have any questions please direct them to ppcf@iop.org.

 

Itoh Project Prize in Plasma Turbulence

One lucky PhD student at this year’s European Physical Society (EPS) Conference on Plasma Physics in Stockholm will win an expenses paid visit to Japan. This is the eighth time that Professor Sanae-I Itoh, in agreement with the conference organizers, has offered the Itoh Project Prize in Plasma Turbulence to students presenting a poster at the conference. The winner gets the chance to visit Kyushu University, Japan, for one week, including flights and living expenses.

To be considered for this excellent prize you must be a PhD student presenting a poster at the EPS conference in Stockholm. During the conference you will be allocated a time slot to be interviewed and the winner will be announced at the end of the conference and on the Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion (PPCF) website. The administration of this award is being facilitated in part by PPCF, of which Professor Itoh is on the International Advisory Panel. To enter your poster in the running for the Itoh Project Prize 2012, simply send an e-mail to ppcf@iop.org by Friday the 15th of June 2012 with ‘Itoh Project Prize’ in the subject line. Please include your name, your poster number, the day and time you are presenting your poster, plus the abstract and you will be sent an appointment to meet with Professor Itoh, or one of the other judges, during the conference. All appointments will also be listed at the PPCF exhibition table at the conference.
